as you have said, the pictures are kinda blurry, so no one can really give you a straight answer

But... tampered with or not, it a beautiful coin, I really like the toning

I dont see any evidence of anything.. I dont see dirt/grime collecting at the edge of details like it has been dipped, I'd need more magnified pics to see hairlines, but I see no evidence of polishing/cleaning

Can not tell from these photos. Could you take some better ones when you have it in hand and we could be a bit more helpful.

It was a great buy for what you paid I think, it does look like a possible Proof coin, impaired and AU55 probably. I'd like better photos though to make sure the fields weren't messed with burnished or polished, the toning could be AT or real, I've seen quite a few proof coins that look like this one before. Try taking photos with the coin filling the camera frame as much as possible and remove it from the holder and album page, plastic tends to hide hairlines and polish lines.

jp - crop down on the image to only show the dime itself. Then re-size it and re-save it.

Also, it appears you're using a diffuse light source. Try using a brighter light and putting it on an angle. Is possible, two light sources from the 10 and 2 or 11:30 and 1:30 positions might help.
