I'm wondering what the term is for these spots there's one on obverse and many on reverse accompanied by numerous vertical(Column Area mainly) and horizontal lines across the entire coin.
I looked at the trail die site but I'm not sure if that's the correct term. Obverse is below IN, Reverse is between TE in united.I couldn't get a pic of column area that looks good enough to post with my crude equipment.

Thanks for the Welcome and help with my questions. Seems like a easy going community.

The are under the motto on IN is a gas bubble trapped under the plating.
The reverse is finger prints that ruin the finish of the coin. They can be removed if they were fresh, but the salts in sweat on you fingerprints leave the mark and then eat it's way into the coin reducing the value of the coin. Hope this helps?
