First one gF-aVF
Second one gVF but hard to tell if that is lustre or funny toning. If it is lustre it probably grades a bit better.

Ooops aian. I had the 1952 coin up on the forum, but not the 1951. I would be open to opinions on the 1951 coin.

I have always had difficulty grading the obverse on all coins of George V1.
I even have a gold British Five Pounds proof of 1937 to use a reference.

The hair detail on the profile of George V1 is the difficult area.

The problem lies in the fact that it is hard for me to differentiate between hair detail that is softly struck up coin with no wear, and hair detail that is more sharply defined, but with some wear.

Your 1951 appears to be an Arnprior variety, about a hundred bucks worth.

Can you explain about this "Arnprior" version. The value you are citing is getting me excited.

Thanks

These look suspiciously like improperly stored PLs. Enviro damage. Otherwise they appear to be pretty nice pieces. Do or get some conservation done on them.
