I have been waiting for a half decent price on one for awhile, I missed out a few that were really good prices, but just snagged an ICG one for $599 with free shipping, which I though t was a fair price. Just glad to finally have one! I think the Goodacre is gonna skyrocket in price over the next couple decades

That is a really good price! I got mine 1 year ago for about same price and it was the lowest price over the previous 3-4 months, so I was happy. The price really should be 5-10x given the limited numbers, but there is no strong collector base, keeping the prices suppressed.
I think it is a good long-term investment piece, I agree. I actually followed some transactions a year ago, in which someone was snagging the cheapies up and then doubling the price and selling as BIN. Some of those sold during weeks in which there were none others.

They're still about the same price they were a decade ago which means that so far they are still a loser. They would need to be about $800 for those who bought them back when they were new to even be breaking even.

Quote: my hope is to find one in the wild Not saying it would be impossible but it would be unlikely since she had all of her coins slabbed and then they sold for a premium. I think you would have better luck finding a Cheerios Dollar in the wild and that is a very very slim chance. I think the Type 1 Goodacre Dollars may start to rise in price in the future more than the type 2 will because there werent as many type 1's, I think there were only like 126 known of the type 1's and are labeled as such on the ICG label. I have only seen 1 of the coins in the type 1 slabs

I still haven't seen one in the Type 1 label. I was at a coin show last week and a VERY large dealer had 9 Goodacre's for sale, 7 of them ICG and 2 of them PCGS, but none were the type 1. By the way his price on the PCGS was $3200! Good luck selling that anytime soon!

This site says there were 123 type 1 coins: http://www.smalldollars.com/dollar/page24.htmlInteresting story on the coins. Pretty cool idea for Glenna to make a nice profit on her earnings, since she was selling them for $200 apiece. She might still have a few too.

I also have a line on a VIP strike Sac that I will be purchasing in a few weeks. Also have a line on a Cheerio's Sac as well, but won't have the money for that for several several months, would love to have it but just don't have the money for it. Long term goal is to have a complete set of Sac's but I have to say that I will probably never find a "Mule" one and even if I did, I could never afford it! lol I have not been able to find an Experimental Rinse Sac or a Denver Employee Appreciation Sac, so if anyone knows of any for sale anywhere, please let me know.
