Just musing about the 2012 mintage.
I wonder if the mint is going to release any 2012 coins into circulation.
3 months gone and still no 2012 in my pocket change.
Has anyone seen any , or is this going to be one of those " Mint packs only " years

3 months gone and still no 2012 in my pocket change. Going by past releases I dont think we'll be seeing many 2012 until the second half of 2013. It was only a few months ago that we started seeing 2010 5c. The only non commemorative 2011 coin I have seen is the 50c. |

I doubt we will see any to later in the year or possibly early next year.

When I was at the mint, I kid you not, saw NO 2012 coins being minted, but large large buckets (700kg) of 2010 coins and they were still minting 2011 50c pieces and 20c pieces.
HOWEVER
the mint is rather busy at the moment as we are filling a coin order for one of the Islands, New Caledonia I think (cant remember) and that has been going on for a while they told me.

Oh please, how hard can it be to check the calendar, look at the coins and figure out something's not quite right?  |

Has anyone a list of the coins minted for 2012.
There seems to be an awful lot especially the 1 dollar and 50 cent coins

they have been busy little beavers at the mint this year indeed. So far I have 2012 mint set 2012 proof set 2012 baby set Diamond Jubilee 50 cents Kokoda trail 50 cents corroboree frog $1 Sumatran tiger $1 Wheat sheaf c mm $1 Wheat sheaf blue bell $1 And I haven't even scratched the surface yet. I will have to use a separate album just to house the 2012 issues  |

I have 12 rolls of a mix of 5c and 10c upstairs - maybe I will get lucky! Will let you know in the morning

so what your saying Josh is that if we find a 2012 coin it is more than likey one of poppy trouts mint sets, after the grandkids have got in and raided his collection
