I'm finally starting to photo catalog my coins.
I Believe the first to be a DMPL....tough to capture in the pictures.....second one I believe to be a typically weak struck New Orleans Morgan. Let me know your opinions.

MS-62 and AU-55.

I can't tell if the first coin is PL or DMPL from the pictures.

First MS-62 MAAAAYBE a 63 PL. Second appears mid range AU's, but hard to tell from the photos.

I agree coin #1 to be MS62. Appears to be at least PL from the appearance of the fields. Can't make a call on DMPL from here. It is a fairly decent strike for the year/mm.

Coin #2 is tough to call for me because of the toning. It could be a weak struck MS62 all the way down to AU55.

What is the test for a DMPL....is it newspaper print from a foot away? I know under regular room lighting I can position my finger roughly a foot away and get a good reflection. I tend to have a hard time with New Orleans morgans....I have 2 of this particular date slabbed the second one here appears to be a carbon copy of one I have slabbed by NGC at MS 63.....however I know that one is a very flat strike.....I have the same feeling about this one however my experience is much more limited than most on here.

MS-62+ DMPL
AU-58 Something about the luster of the face and the hair looks a bit dull like from wear. I could be wrong and it is just in the pictures.

The obverse of the second coin has pretty dark toning which I feel has impeded the luster in the pictures....I am still trying to tweak my lighting set up
