Are you gonna keep it in the box or break it apart and stack um. At first I loved the box but SD box isn't that big so I found out they stack very nice 3-4 tall, saves on space.

My original plan was to simply leave it sealed with the Mint strapping tape, thinking it would be easier if I ever needed to resell the whole thing at once. That plan lasted about, oh, 30 seconds before I just had to open it up and look at it.

Having said that, though, I really hadn't given any though to searching the coins and looking for variations, errors, etc. Unlike the proof ASEs I own or the 25th Anniversary set, I bought these as pure bullion. I wouldn't even know what to search for, to be honest, and doubt it would be worth the effort.

I am still tempted, however, to dump out all the coins in a big pile and roll around in them for a bit...

Something similar happened to me! I was sending a couple coins of mine and a guy I know to be graded, and I need to purchase $13,000 in insurance and the clerk said, "I know I shouldn't be asking but what could be so small and worth so much?"

It got me so mad, I just looked at him and said, "you're right, you shouldn't be asking.."

Least to say, there was an awkward silence after that.

And by all means, enjoy the massive box of silver....

And dream about the standard silver bar, which weighs twice as much as the monster box.

Yep, that's about how long any such plans last me too!

Once we have a PM delivery in our hot little hands, we just HAVE to take a look at those gorgeous coins. I'm thinking that anyone who can resist doing that is probably buying and selling as a business and is not a collector.

Guys, I carried it up the porch stairs into the house...

Once I was carrying two 60# boxes of silver the four blocks to the PO. A cop came by and told me to hop in.

Another time a neighbor wanted her safe moved across town. After rolling it up the basement stairs and across the parking lot, I got it out in the street and pushed it with my 65 Newport.

A cop went by, turned around for another look, saw me, shook his head and left.

Good story, Barryg! I've had a PO box for more than 10 years and almost all my numismatic coins and bullion have been sent through that box. Never have even tried to buy 500 oz. of silver bullion all at once, the most I have ever done is 50 oz. the bar size. I also get a lot of other merchandise like books, so all of the clerks there just assume I read a lot, and are none the wiser!
