It took a little longer than expected, apparently because it ended up being drop-shipped from a local supplier instead of shipped directly from Goldmart, but I finally picked it up today at my new P.O. Box. Now, if you recall, the main reason for getting a P.O. Box was to keep anybody from figuring out that I was getting deliveries of PM. So, I was a bit taken aback when the guy at the counter said, "Heavy box! What's in it, coins?" I didn't bat an eye and simply said, "Nope. Lead weights." And then I took my box and left. I briefly thought about saying "Ammo," but was afraid I might get into trouble for shipping hazardous materials or something... PICS!

Congratulations, barryg!
That is hilarious about the guy at the post office counter! What can you do, right?
Glad it arrived safe and sound. The pics are great! There's just something cool about that hefty green box and those 25 mint tubes neatly organized inside. You really must feel like you've gotten something for your money!

Great pics, Barry. And there I was in the previous thread asking for them! Ha! Ask and you shall receive... so, be careful what you ask for! The arrangement of the tubes surprises me. I would have thought that a 5 x 5 arrangement of 20-coin tubes would have been optimal and not the 2 x(3 x 4) + 1 arrangement. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that they arrived safely and are now snugly stored in your possession.

How much does it weigh as a whole? You have a little over 30 pounds of silver, plus the packaging.

Quote: I would have thought that a 5 x 5 arrangement of 20-coin tubes would have been optimal and not the 2 x(3 x 4) + 1 arrangement. There's a need for structural support in the middle of the box. Those monster boxes are quite a piece of engineering. The postman probably knows exactly what it is... that weight & shape.

It weighed something like 33-34 pounds I think. I nearly pulled a muscle carrying it up the stairs into my house...

Its kind of funny that you don't want someone to follow you home from the coin shop but you just informed the whole world that monster box is located upstairs in your house. (JOKE)
I love the looks of the green box, to bad its not red and filled with gold. :) Thats my wish
To be honest what the clerk said to you is not out of the normal realm anymore. The worst is when someone sends coinage loose in a bag inside a mailing box and it jingles just like a box of money would, that is always nice.
If you decide you want to trade a few rolls shoot me an email
