I stumbled across this 1891 Indian Head penny at a local flea market. I am new to coins and hoping to learn more. I was wondering what everyones opinion of this coin is. What grade would you assign to this coin? Is there any evidence of cleaning? Thanks for your help in sharpening my eye!

It does not looked cleaned to me. It's pretty dusty, so I wouldn't be certain of a grade, but I think it's probably MS, and fairly nice. Hopefully it's just dusty and that's not corrosion.
Rest in Peace

Nice flea market find! I agree that it's very close to MS and it's a very attractive wood grain look on the obverse. Definitely a keeper.

Looks AU55 to me, some rub on the ribbon and lower hair curl.

It does look like an MS coin with few marks. Great find!

Thanks for the help. I am slowly learning all the delicate differences, and as seen here, everyone sees each coin differently!
