As the Charlton Standard Catalogue doesn't include much information on the special packaging options (or "derivatives") for its commemorative silver dollar series, I'm presenting a few images of the sets I have in my collection to help those unfamiliar with the special sets better understand what's out there so they can decide if they'd like to add them to their own collection.

Next up is the 1997 "Commemorative Sterling Silver Dollar and Collector Pin Set," it was one of three special packages put out by the RCM for its Canada-Russia Hockey Series commemorative dollar; I've already posted info about the other two -- the "Gift Set" and the "Silver Dollar, Phone Card and Stamp Set."

The "Coin and Pin Set" set features a Brilliant Uncirculated commemorative silver dollar and a silver pin featuring the commemorative reverse design mounted in an attractive, full-color folder with details about the coin and Paul Henderson's game-winning goal that propelled Canada to victory in the 1972 Summit Series; both the coin and pin are sterling silver (0.925 fine).

The number of sets sold is not available, but the original selling price was $29.95. I have recently seen multiple of these sets sell online in the range of $30 to $50. More than a dozen of the individual pins recently sold online for between approx. $3.00 and $10.00.

The images below should give you a good idea of the packaging and historical information included.
