Thought I would share this 1926s Peace dollar struck on a defective planchet (near the S mint mark) with this community...

That's a pretty nice error. However, I'm not sure if something like this sells for a premium. Have you done some research on that?

My guess is that a foreign object was struck into the coin when minted, which later fell out.

If it extends all the way through the rim to the other side, then it would be a cracked planchet. If it is only on the surface of the reverse, it would be a delamination.
