I was in my local coin store today and I was looking for some gold coins. I believe it 1912. It was graded by ICCS and I think the grade was AU-55 or MS-60. He was asking $475. Is that a reasonable price for the coin?

Yes, it sounds like a good deal. In those grades, it is around $550-$600 .
Good luck!

I checked completed listings on ebay. There were 3 for the $5 1912 gold coin. PCGS MS62 $620US, 'unofficial' MS60 $514.95CDN, & PCGS MS62 $620US. All prices were Buy It Now and all 3 sold.

1912 $ 5 Gold .900 weight; 8.36 grams mint: 165,680 Trends lists it at MS60 for 425.-, but maybe Trends is out to lunch the 1913 list at the similar prices as the 1912, but it has a mintage of only 98,832 If I were a gold buying person.. I would look for NFL $2 gold pieces.... scarce and still affordable. And some in the same price range with a maximum mintage of 25,000 Just MHO.. good luck with that coin

If it caches your eye it's worth it. Makes a great addition in a collection.
