I wanted to post this on my already posted topic in the forum around two or three years ago the 1972 Double Die, it was announced the big one by Coppercoins, Did not find it so started a new one.

Could someone that's more Knowledgeable then me tell me that I'm not seeing Doubling on the reverse

I wish I never took this one out again, I wanted to see more and examine the coin when my eyes started to see things on the revers :( Am I growing old or are my eyes playing tricks on me again.
By the way I saw one posted on ebay just like the one I have ( 1972 #1 big one ) up for $1095.00 or something.

Very sorry it was only my scanner making it look like Doubling on the reverse, Its totally normal, Used my brothers scanner and it was normal, I guess I over magnified it trying to make it bigger.

Nice find. Looks normal from what I can see. The outside edges of the devices seem a little pushed, but not strong enough to call Machine Doubling.

Your coin looks normal to me. I wouldn't judge the prices by what somebody is asking on ebay though. And I'll gladly trade my 72 001 for a 72 004 doubled die if anybody is interested in the "big one"

Yeah, a PCGS holder will protect it from any additional doubling.

Very nice find. A coin worth getting slabbed. I wish I could have found just one of any of those 1972 DDs.
