Not exactly what you might think.
I don't ever make intentional "errors". But once in a while an unintentional (true) error coin happens. I thought this one was neat so I saved it from the scrap heap:

that isn't the actual Presidential $1 coin- that is Daniel Carr's (much nicer) rendition of them. Notice the "DC" initials on the obverse and reverse and the S1 instead of $1.

he could be the designer of the original coins like he was for the NY quarter and Long Island. But thats not the case in this situation but it could happen
