ce,
Thats a loaded question with many possible answers, depending a lot on how many coins are you wanting to have graded, are you willing to pay to join PCGS or NCG as enrollment is required with those graders unless you take your coins to a dealer and have them submit them for you.
I see you left out ANACS.Was that intentional? ANACS and ICG do not charge a joiners fee and anybody can submit coins to them for grading. As a rule, both of these graders coins bring less on the market than PCGS or NGC,and I personally wouldn't submit a plug nickel to ICG after seeing some of their recent gradings.
Are you planning to keep these coins after grading or put them on the market?

I second the NGC opinion. I like them and they have a good reputation if you ever need to sell them. PCGS is also highly regarded, but for some reason I just like NGC.

tls I forgot to put anacs. the 1866 nickel with the Cuds I would like to have graded would it be a problem with anacs? I was looking on ngc and there is different varietys for the 1866 Shield nickel. do you have to know these varietys before you submit coins or do they look for them? how do you know what the different varietys are? is there books for varietys? I have alot of coins in ms that I would like to get graded and sell some of them to buy better coins.

ce,
That would not be a problem for ANACS. I believe they are one of the best at variety coins. There is an area on their submission form that you check if you want your coin looked at for variety. They will do the rest. You don't have to tell them what to look for. They will know.
You can download ANACS submission forms from the website or call them and they will send you a whole submission kit, free of charge. They can help you over the phone if you have any questions also. They are very good about that.

I believe with NGC you can submit through an arrangement with ebay and also if you are an ANA member without further ado.
