With all my "bad" luck on ebay, I am considering to stop using ebay. This time it's not coin related. I was selling an OEM version of Windows 98. Also a piece of hardware with it to conform with ebay rules. Anyways, ebay cancelled my auction! And the bid was up to $17.50 I could have used for coins. I mean is it so wrong to sell something you no longer use?

I am unfamiliar with ebay's rules for software/hardware. What was their problem with your auction?

Apparently they don't want you to sell OEM software (software that comes with your computer). Just ticks me off. Looks like I will have to find somewhere else to get my coins...which isn't gonna be an easy task.

I think it's amazing how they pick and choose the rules that they will enforce. I think Microsoft probably watches ebay and reports these under the VERO rules.

Somehow, it wouldn't seem so bad if they would consistently enforce ALL of their rules, not just the ones that upset the big companies.

I would close my ebay account right now but I need to let my transactions finish out as people still owe me money and I have yet to receive some items.

Microsoft is very picky as to where and how their software gets sold. They are not a company to take lightly. ebay has no desire to get involved with them over anything. As big as they are, Microsoft could buy and sell them daily.

I might stay onboard with ebay as it's really the only coin market that is readily available to me. And I don't care much for the local dealer here in town.
