Hi everyone,
I've only been playing with circulated coins for about 2 1/2 weeks, but am soooo excited by my first few finds. Thursdays small handful of change from shopping and paying bills was brilliant (literally!) giving me shiny new 2011 50c and 20c coins, a shiny 2010 5c, a 2005 $1 Dancing Man (no hat Cud,tho), and a 1984 dollar which turned out to be a rabbit ears with spew roo!

As I admired the 2010 5c coin, I realized the Queen's nose didn't look quite right, so with an 8x loupe I took a close look, and dang if there wasn't a small Cud there. I guess HM would be none too pleased about it, but I'm practically bouncing off the walls with excitement over it. I'm sure it is a Cud, yes please, pretty please, tell me it is?

I've been learning such a lot from all the posts and photos in this forum. I think it was Yass who has photos of the rabbit ears coin, and thanks to nancyc and her photos, I also found my first PDL. It's a true goldmine for beginners and I am so appreciative. javascript:insertsmilie('')

My steep learning curve has also included figuring out how to take photos of coins, but I'm happy with what I've done - if only I can get them to upload properly! Fingers crossed...

A hearty and keep up the good work.
You have come to the right place to learn about coins.

Let's hope your $1 is not just beginner's luck and may you find many more.

Photos are excellent for a first attempt. I find inside a window with indirect daylight works well. Try different camera angles and coin orientation -that can make a big difference to the end result.

to CCF!

A nice Cud under HM's nose. Some I have seen in the past were called 'boogers', but Cud is much nicer.

Nice finds
Most of your Errors are common but to find them all together is a bonus
Rarest would have to be the 1984 $1 rabbit ears especially in the condition you have found it which still seems to have some lustre. These are particularly rare in higher grades.
Overall nice going

Not sure what PDL is. Did you mean PMD? Please explain.

@nancyc - Oops! PDL is my shortspeak for Planchet/Die crack/Lamination flaws. It could also refer to the PuDdLe my brain is in from reading so much info in so short a time, but I think I'll stick to the first explanation.

What I found was a Pl flaw, yes?

Welcome, though I am also new here.

How lucky you are! I still not found any rabbit ear.
