Ok, just came home from an auction and have bought three of the ASEs with the Walking Liberty covered with a replica of the flag. I know everyone has seen them. Had to buy them, they were just to cheap. It appears to be a glaze or the equivalent of decoupage. I will get it off, just don't know how. Any ideas short of a file. I have not tried acetone, yet. Will acetone hurt the finish and if so, how bad. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I bet either acetone or alcohol will do the trick, and neither will harm the ASE's.

Hey Becky. Tried the alcohol, gin to be exact, but I deep drinking it before it could have an effect. So, as you suggested, went to acetone and it worked perfectly. about 3 minutes and a little swishing around and the ASE is clean and uneffected by the acetone. thx for the help. Jim
