Hello everyone, I am new to the community and as a coin collector so please forgive me if this isn't in the right 'forum'. I have a 2006 penny. It is silver in color, no mint mark and is magnetic. I read a previous post by "1945V" stating that this particular one is the "holy grail" of these pennies. Can anyone elaborate as to the rarity or value? Thanks for any help.

I see it's not Canadian. Looks like it may be an unplated coin. Better photos would be great. John1

Being unplated wouldn't make it 'magnetic', would it?

it could be plated post mint, or be unplated from the mint. It shouldn't be magnetic(so that intrigues) me unless it was some sort of experimental planchet, which I'm unaware they were doing this year. It is most likely fake, but larger pictures would help.

I will take more pic's this evening. I've had two 'coin dealers' look at it so far and their baffled as well.

This is as good a close up as I could get with out it starting to look blurry. What appears to be scratches on the front is actually the plastic from the protector I have it in. I showed this penny to some one yesterday that 'dabbles' in coins. He had not seen one before then but assured me that it was not 'plated' due to it being to crisp in all the right places. I know it doesn't look like it in the pic's but it is 'shiney and silver in color'. Thanks to all that's trying to help. WHC.
