I found this yesterday; apparently no SD. At first I took it to be 2005 but, after closer inspection I now think 2003 (some damage to last digit).

No SD. But is it a mint error or PMD?
I was thinking grease on die. Looks to be very faint trace of SD and spines adjacent are partly missing. But, some damage apparent in that vicinity too.

Have a look, form an opinion and tell me what you think.

If consensus is that it is PMD then the obvious thing to do is list it on ebay as a once off, valuable error. But, what start price; 99ΒΆ, $10.00, $100 or $500? Don't put me on your list yet Nancy.

Thanks,
Jeff

Sadly, I think it is more likely PMD than a Grease Filled Die.

I've cropped your image and would ask if you can take a close up of the area in the yellow border. It sort of looks like a D, but it's a bit skewed.

Here are the three best images I could get from three different devices. Converted to B&W and cropped so original resolution retained.

Does look like SD is in there somewhere. Hard to tell -I need to buy a real high magnification loupe I suspect.

Really could go either way. If I had to pick I would agree with nancy that I can see a small part of the D. Good enough for ebay still.
