Spent $4.50 in halves at Burger King on the way home from work. They guy behind me had a handful of change and payed the cashier. As he was counting it out I saw he was also paying with some half dollars and a few quarters and dimes. The cashier counted my halves fine but somehow got confused by the mixed bag of coins from this guy. The cashier thought we were both together since we both had half dollars. I told the guy I had never seen anyone else pay with half dollars besides me. While we were waiting for our food the guy told me he saves up half dollars all year and then uses them to buy Christmas presents. He said he saves the "copper" ones and pulled out a casino damaged coin where the reeding was peened off and all you could see was the copper. I didn't want to but his bubble by telling him what it really was. He spent $3.50 in halves so I don;t know if that counts or not $26,210.50 to go |

Has anyone here found any circulating Presidential dollar that has a mintage of under 10000000? I really have a feeling that the mint lowered the Presidential dollar mintages because people aren't spending enough of them. |
