Spent nine, along with a $20 bill, on groceries. The cashier looked at the nine SBA's scattered atop the bill and asked "are these dollars?" I replied "Yes, nine 1979 Susan B. Anthony dollars."

I spent 4.50 today at the farmers market, does the $992 that I brought back to the bank count?, haha, j/k. guess not. I did get kind of lucky on one box and scored two Franklins and BU 64 Kennedy, so score an oz. for the stack.

I sent out three today, but only two will count . . . .

Two were Prez dollars. The third was an Ike I promptly pocketed, then, when showing it to a co-worker, I said "I found an Eisenhower dollar" and a voice from over by the coffee machines went "You got an IKE? I'll give you two bucks for it!"

I said no at first, and then he told me why he wanted it. Turns out this guy inherited a collection about twenty years ago and dismantled it. Now he wants to replace what he lost, and there was a complete set of Ikes among what he handed out. I told him he could have it for face; he insisted on giving me the two. I feel okay letting this one go; I have a couple of Ikes of my own and, hey, new collector! However, this will not count toward our total; when I told him to take care of it, his response was "This? This bad boy ain't going nowhere." I don't doubt that he'll be a treasured, if scratched, hole-filler until the guy has a chance to upgrade, and then he'll be a hole-filler for someone else.

In other news: I think someone is spending a collection. One of my other customers stopped at a QT tonight and when he brought in his pocket change to get a coffee, he also had an Ike, along with two AU 40% Kennedys, all purchased out of the QT cashier's drawer--sound familiar (and what are the odds of two Ikes turning up in circulation in 2012 on the same night less than ten miles apart)? I wish I had about a hundred bucks to go around town, stopping at gas stations buying gum and asking if they had anything funny in their drawers. I bet I'd score a lot of silver.

As we stand, $88 910.

Two at a snack bar last night. The cashier was waiting for me to hand her more money, as she thought I gave her only 50ยข. I told her, "I already paid you two dollars." She looked at the coins, saw that they were SBA's and said "Oh," and put them in the register. I told her I get them from the bank all the time.

Found a cup with $25 worth of GW Presidential dollars. Spent them over 2 weeks at my pinball league. Payed my weekly dues and bought a few beers. Finally ran out of them and got asked "What, no gold this week?" lol.

I hate to be too much of a stickler, but we are trying to get down from $100,000 to zero. Nina missed $12 posted by Halfnhalf on the previous page and then Everything added his 4.50 to the total instead of subtracting. So the total should be $21 less than what was last posted. This makes $88,833.50.

Now in the last few days I spent 3 sac dollars and 1 half dollar at a coin show for supplies, 2 sacs and 1 half on turnpike tolls, 1 sac on groceries, 1 half at a different grocery store. When I spent the last half dollar, the cashier said she had not seen one of these for a long time. I responded that she must never have gotten one from me then because I spend them regularly. This is 7.50 total.

$88,826 to go.
