I won a denarius of Geta yesterday.

Geta ruled the Roman Empire together with his older brother Caracalla, but there was a constant rivalry. Caracalla arranged a meeting with Geta in their mother's apartments, and then had him murdered in her arms by centurions.

I really don't want to rain on your parade, but something doesn't look right IMHO, especially on the reverse. I hope I'm terribly wrong. The image may just be bad, but the coin looks flat and Castor and the horse look too much like cartoon figures. Look, I've been known to be wrong and hopefully I am on this one too. If it turns out to be authentic, I'm ok with eating crow. Otherwise, the portrait is very well done.

I know what you mean jwharper. I studied the photos for a long while and decided it was ok. But I could be wrong too. I may change my mind once I examine it in hand. I value your opinion and don't ever worry about raining on my parade.

It's a nice looking coin, but I would like to have the size and weight before I make judgement. There is just something about the reverse that doesn't seem right to me. I hope I'm wrong as I said.
