Silver pennies now, I've heard everything. Thought it might be an honest oversight by an uninformed seller. But after reading the description, clearly someone trying to take advantage of the ignorant. I just reported it to ebay.

I wish they'd show all those awesome MS-69 1943s that they claim to have. I bet they are pretty to look at.

i guess in all fairness unless I missed something where he states its silver, steel could be considered an S. He does seem to imply it is silver though

Interesting idea kenscott, so I decided to try that (since the have such low sales, maybe it is a mistake?)

I just noticed that you have these listed as silver instead of steel. This is most likely why you have no bids. I also have seen listings like these pulled and the seller dinged - from what I understand this affects the sellers bottom line.

The response should be interesting
Rest in Peace

I'm thinking about writing him the following:
"So I see you have vast knowledge in coin collecting. These are plated worthless coins but, I'm sure you already knew that. Good luck with the auction".

I see in their history that seller has been buying a number of Buffalo nickel lots recently so I wonder if we are going to be seeing Silver Buffs popping up on the Bay?

They are still up for auction. I guess ebay isn't going to cancel them then. Usually they respond very quickly. A few hours to a day at most.

A lot of people think they are silver for some reason. My aunt and grandma were talking about the "silver" cents that they have saved. I had to correct them saying they are steel.

I was curious and just saw questions and answers posted on the listing (but the listing is still incorrect):

Quote:
Q: These are not silver, they are steel. I would suggest you change it before someone reports you.
A: apparently, while I was at church, so ironic, I was reported many times - I am posting some of many responses to this just because - even though one or two were neutral and caring and one was from a true heart - the others...

Q: You realize there is no such thing as silver Lincoln cents, correct? These are made of steel, not silver.
A: I knew that - sorry meant color although I hear there are a few coppers - I would like one

Q: Your fraudulent post is being discussed currently in various Internet coin forums. Pretty shameless.
A: I did not sin - it was a mistake

Q: Just thought I would let you know that these cents are not silver. They are made of steel. The government needed the copper for ammunition and other military items. the cents you have listed are actually a zinc-coated steel
A: sorry just fixed it a true mistake

Q: You should be banned from ebay for deceptive listing practices. These are STEEL and not silver & I suspect you very well know that. You are trying to take advantage or unsuspecting bidders that don't know any better....
A: no no no that was a mistake - I believe in Jesus and it was a mistake I meant silver color - not metal - sorry fix it right away

At least there are not any bids at this point ~
