Hi to all, new here but have been collecting for a while... mainly Australian Dec coins & notes (paper/polymer).... also some pre-decimal coins.... more coins than notes.... Sydney based. I have a history of noodling significant amounts of change & sometimes $50 polymers. I'm hoping I can get some feedback from the think-tank out there on its rarity & possible value. I'm not expecting a huge premium but maybe something ? re. Australian 2005 polymer - Condition = Extra fine - Cat value = $ 50 There seem to be a few wet ink transfer errors on this note..... but there is also another less obvious error that eagle eyes may be able to spot... but I won't reveal it yet. Maybe you've seen it before. I haven't noticed it previously or heard of it but I'm not an "errors" expert. And I'm not referring to the uneven cut on the bottom right. Any ideas ? OK regarding the ink transfer, most are similar to goatieman23's note....from the pics you should notice the shadowy 50 on the bottom right; but there is also "Australia" printed in mirror writing on far right margin; faint characters on the left under the window; & ink above the serial numbers on the left. On the other side there are a few transfers but they are much less noticeable, including a faint bit of a $50 under the window. From a previous post I see goatieman23 quotes a rough premium rate of around 10% for this kind of error...depending... So is this only likely to worth around $55 - ish ? How rare are these kind of transfers ? And did you find the other error ? Thanks, xevious

Thanks Nancy !
Error hint -
the error is clearly noticeable in the second or middle photo. But it is subtle.

Looks like a zero showing under Aus, and something else to the left of it, maybe part of a 5. Nah, you already pointed that out. Gee, I dunno! Is it the extra shading in the indicated area?

If the error is that subtle then It probably isn't worth a premium

, xevious! I'm guessing you've pointed it out with arrows, but not familiar with how a correct note should look. Is the faint ink by the script "Australia" an offset error?

OK now I see it. There is another faint 50 below the original the 0 encompasses the Aus in Australia

Hi, thanks for the welcomes & stabs at the error... perhaps I should have called it an inaccuracy..... actually after further checking it seems quite common.... Photos show the inaccuracy and the the normal note - or is it the other way around ? xevious

Using your last 2 pictures, I find the top one to be the far more 'common' example. The number of letters protruding to the left varies from 0 - 4½. These are three I found with the most letters protruding: 2003 2004 2005

The 50 imprint under Australia is rather odd because realistically it should be in reverse i.e mirror imaged on the note.
As Nancy said with the writing, it's a very common occurance for the print to be out of wack in that area.
I'll actually post some images of a different section of a $50 that spun me out the other day. It was some colour issue that just stood out. It's probably common, but I'd never noticed it before.
