The "D" is either Die Deterioration or gas bubble,just turn it over and check the rev.

If you are referring to the bottom right of the MM that is split plating. When looking on the back DrDon was referring to RDV006, do you know what to look for? Here is what mine looks like https://goccf.com/t/85290

Im sorry I gotta get up to speed on these lol its so hard to tell is there a way to get the nasty fingerprints off to get a better look thanks for helping out this newbie.

It is zinc rot. It happens when the plating get split and exposes the zinc. Happens a lot on the 80's cent when the punch for the mint mark made a fin in the die. The earlier die states split the plating in this area until the fin was flattened. Too some time as the steel is a lot harder than zinc.
