I picked this up because I liked the woodgrain effect. It'll need a little acetone bath before putting it away. I'd love to see more of the tombac with the woody effect.

Beauty of a coin chequer, I also, love the wood grain effect, usually you don't see it on Canadian coins that much.

I was pleased to see the effect on the tombac nickel, so I picked it up. It's not that yellow in real life... just lightened the pics to show the detail more. No, it hasn't been cleaned.

judging by the "wood grain" on the beaver, this coin looks like it's dirty, not a tombac...
