So, I was thinking about buying a few of the 2012 Canadian Maple leaf 1oz silver coins with the Titanic Privy mark from APMEX. Then tonight I saw that they have some slabbed editions of these coins as well, for just a few dollars more. I am wondering now what to do? Go for the slabbed, or get the cheapest I can and buy raw. The regular slabbed ones are just about 4 dollars more than raw, but the slabbed ones with a 69 grade are about 15 dollars more than that.
Decisions, decisions...any advice? Anyone else buying or thinking of buy, or bought these coins?

Thank you!

There may be some confusion here due to the fact that Canada released a Titanic coin back in 1998 that's very similar to the 2012 version. Buy the '98 if the price is within $5-10. Try the link below:

I'm currently adding Maples to my stack so I bought a few of the ungraded 2012 Titanic privy marked coins last week. The graded coins must have just been added to the APMEX website within the past day. If you're looking to buy one or two of the 2012 coins, the graded SP-69's look attractive. However, I'm uncertain as to the value of the less expensive SP-GEM grade.

The earlier 1998 Titanic privy coin is also available for pickup through APMEX as well.

If you are interested in the 1998 coin, Provident also recently added the coin to their web site. It's about $10 USD cheaper than APMEX and ships in an air-tite capsule.

The Sp is specimen, I think. Gem? Not sure, unless it's simply a level of quality between BU and Proof.

I bought the 1998 Titanic Privy (sealed) for $36 bucks from the dealer. He only had 3. Little did I know these privys carry a premium. I like them, and I think the 2012 will also follow in terms of a potential $ premium for them.

I would have bought them all. Do you know what they sell for on ebay?

I like the idea of the SP-GEM being only a few dollars higher than the other one, vs SP-69 is about 15 dollars more...I wonder if it is really worth that much more?
