H . . here are the key words in your post. Quote: I really like it. Buy it. I would grade it at VF-35 to XF-40 which puts the price below NumisMedia price guide. Appears to be a minor rim ding at 7:00 obv, 1:00 rev but not very distracting. Probably was dipped a long time back but that is normal for these. All in all it is an appealing half.

It is a nice looking Bust half, but be careful. There is quite a following of bidders for this seller. A Lot of his coins go for more than you might pay elsewhere. Set a price you are willing to pay for this and see if you get it. Don't get caught up in the bidding frenzy and overpay like many people do in my opinion. Good luck.

Jeffrose thank you I never knew about the "Numismedia website" it's now added on my favorites list. this will help me a lot for this bid.

dave700x thank you for the insight. I also didn't know this person has a good following. I just woke up and checked my mail. I just got outbidded but the price is still low. now that I know a lot more about this bid, I have set a price range and will stick to it. I hope to get it and will post the answer later in the day when the bidding ends.

I would say yes but I have read things about how this sellers pictures can be misleading. Just by going by the images, I would like it as well.

It looks like a small letter 32 and PCGS has it valued at $130 and $200 at those two grades. Just remember that you are bidding on a really good photo of a coin.

That seller is well-known for pictures that look much nicer than the cleaned/altered/messed-with coin you may receive. Not all of the coins from that seller are dodgy but it is really a game of Russian roulette with GSC so buyer beware

IMHO, you paid too much for this coin. Try attending a few coin shows. Common, late date bust halves in XF are running around $90 in that venue. Also, consider that most coin show dealers, whether buying or selling the bust halves, don't pay much heed to varieties. If you become a fan of the Overton varieties, shows are the best hunting grounds.

I fell for a couple of Great Southern coins "images"...and they both went back the day after I received them. The pictures they take are amazing, the coins in hand were NOT. At least they have a return policy.

Personally I would pass, 1832s are one of the easier dates to find in high grade and this particular seller has quite a reputation for photos that make the item look better than it actually is with deceptive lighting. It is a decent price but a good photographer can hide a lot of gouges and cleaning.

If this is an auction that hasn't ended yet, it will probably sell for more than you wanted to pay. Great Southern Coin has a lot of crazy bidders who bid too high and the photos usually make the coin look better.
