I had seen a posting on a 'faked' Chinese Fat Man from someone father's collection...it turned out the edge held the clue on whether it was real or not. When I saw the edge of this coin, it tweaked my memory.

I have included jpegs. Is this coin real or fake?

I don't know, looks fine to me. It's just a scrape along the edge, doesn't look at all like a seam.

And this is a Yemeni riyal by the way, not particularly scarce coin. Krause calls the date 1962 even though the coin itself reads 1963.

Thanks, whenever I see 'weak' edges I always wonder... the fact it from Yemen, is understandable, that countries coins I have found very different from Western coinage.
