Here's a coin I'm considering; does anyone here own this coin? The price varies a lot on these, dependent on grade and the quality of the die work. This one is 18 mm and 4.9 gr. I wanted one that was well-centered, not too much wear and with a legible "IΣTPIH". This is selling for $133--a good deal?

I don't own one, but I was looking at these coins just a couple of days ago. They are nice and this one looks like a very good example. You are correct about the prices being all over the board, but I think $133 looks fair compared to what I saw. Is this on ebay or is it being sold by a dealer? If a dealer, I would make an offer. All he can do is say no. That's how I role anyway. Good luck

Thanks JW for your advice. It is a dealer--in Europe.
You're right--it can't hurt to make an offer.

DVC => that is an awesome price ...

I just saw one in similar grade that was listed for $349 (of course I almost lashed-out and bought it, but decided against it at the last second)

... I love these Eagle/Dolphin coins

The question is can you just buy one? They come with either head upside down (turning it over does not change that) and with the reverse scene going either way so a set requires four coins unless you recognize that there are at least three denominations not to mention some barbarous ones and various letters under the dolphin. I'd call the price fair.

I don't own one but I would like to get a nice one eventually. This one is both nice and affordable.

It has nice eye appeal for the wear.

A mid-grade coin like this isn't a bad compromise, because they quickly get expensive. Thanks for all your input--I'll update if the dealer accepts my offer.

I made a resonable offer--and it was accepted!
