Here's a picture of the 3 types in the Charlton catalogue.

One really interesting die pairing of the no design has a diagonal die crack at the zero in the date. There are really interesting variants and differnces in the fifty cent and dollars of the year 1950. Nice half you have there!

You can find three different No-Design 1950 50 cent coins...

1. The most common one, which in the later stages develops the die cracks through the Zero and in other places on the Reverse. You can tell this one as it has one dot just below the Unicorn's hoof. and has an incused die mark which can be found extending down from the three lion section of the shield to the top of the harp.

2. As above, (ie. one dot below the unicorn's hoof) without the die mark and it does not progress into the Die Crack stage.

3. The least often seen one has three dots just below the Unicorn's hoof.

This is the die mark that I referenced in the previous entry. It can be found on approximately half of all 1950 50 cent coins and so one can conclude that it is a matrix defect.
