Hi, the Perth Mint one is the original type (complete with COA and box and all packaging) note the price! $107 which is correct The other one Macquarie Mint to which I am cautious of as once you are on there mailing list they don't stop bugging you -- and sending you coins that you may not want to additionally buy (they are only selling the coin $69.95) this company is a side branch of Downies and the items they sell cheaper because the coin box was probably damaged. This gimmick if you look at the PDF brochure is about getting you to buy the first coin seemingly cheap with a collectors box included, but it is expected that you will buy the whole series to fill the box provided.

P.S the coin is worth noting to someone like me if it doesn't have the original box and COA and packing.
The Macquarie Mint made up custom "Australian Heritage Collection" will include.
*2011 ROYAL WEDDING RRP $107.00 (Mintage 12,500)
*CENTENARY OF AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH BRONZE COINAGE RRP $107.00 (Mintage 7,500)
*AUSTRALIAN ANTARCTIC TERRITORY SERIES SOUTH MAGNETIC POLE RRP $89.50 (Mintage 7,500)
*SIR CHARLES KINGSFORD SMITH RRP $89.95 (Mintage 5,000)
*FAMOUS BATTLES IN AUSTRALIAN HISTORY -- KOKODA RRP $107.00 (Mintage 5,000)
(Additional coins will be $119.95 ea)
What bugs me most is this, some of the coin mintages were 5,000 coins
But Macquarie Mint is doing 7,500 sets
The numbers don't match up people!

Smells more fishy than the local brothel to me, and I live in the A.C.T I already purchased the coin from the Perth Mint, I was just shocked to see it being marketed as something else with the same design, so that explains it. bit of a rip on the other coins though.

It seems the Macquarie Mint is buying in Perth Mint products in large job lots, then on selling them. A bit of re packaging helps with the marketing.

Macquarie Mint are probably not making much money but you get sucked in at the "special introductory offer" then they have your credit card and charge you every month for all the others at full price and you can't figure out how to stop them!! Sneaky. (There's always fine print)

Be careful with these guys - they are purely profit driven and contribute nothing to the art of coin collecting They use the same method that bookcompanies used back in the 80's + 90's - get the first item real cheap then the rest at marked up prices
Each collector has their on wants and needs so do as you will if coins appeal to you but be careful in getting stuck in a vicious cycle
If you can do not give credit card and pay in cash which I assume they will do let you do for obvious reasons

I wouldn't touch them with a 40 foot pole! A wolf in sheep's clothing!! Since I found out they were in fact Downies in disguise, I haven't bought anything off Downies. I hate deception.
life is a mystery to be lived not a problem to be solved

As I noted in the old Macquarie Mint thread, their standard modus operandi is to take an ordinary coin struck by some other mint (most often Perth Mint, though not always), remove it from its original mint wrapping, stick it in Macquarie Mint wrapping and on-sell it for a tidy profit. Quote: What bugs me most is this, some of the coin mintages were 5,000 coins

The numbers don't match up people! The answer to this quandary is elementary, my dear fellow: the composition of the "sets" is going to be random. If they run out of one coin, they'll just send you something different to fill the hole. The only thing truly limited to 7500 is the number of boxes they get made.
