Really like this coin, book value is crazy on these. Can anyone point me toward the actual market value. Thanks in advance!

Watch the auction to the end, that'll be FMV. There's only 176 of this coin slabbed at MS67 by NGC, so they can't sell often enough to 'set' a value. I wouldn't be surprised to see that coin hammer at 2K.

IMHO ... this is a nice coin but not a quality coin ... the surface hazing is distracting to my eye and the low-resolution photos do not enable a judgement on strike quality.

I humbly disagree ... educated collectors will push the bid to appx $1100 max ...

Let's see what happens.

Nice coin, but I don't think it is worth that price. And no picture of the reverse either? Usually that means they are hiding something.

@Nickelsearcher, great guess on the final price!

How about that ... $1055 hammer price ... about where I expected for a nice but not premium quality NGC MS67 Antietam.

IMHO ... Had this been a bright white, fully cartwheel luster example with full strike in a PCGS MS67 holder with CAC beanie ... then it would have been a $2500 coin.

At this level it's all about quality ... and despite the lofty technical grade ... this particular coin is average in quality.

I am not the proud new owner.

I see one online coin dealer has a 1937 Antietam PCGS MS-65 for $925 and PCGS MS-64 for $750
