Ok, so I have finally got a free weekend and after drooling over all of your guys' finds, I'm going to spend the weekend CRHing. I am probobly planning on going to my bank (chain) and asking for boxes of either dimes or half-dollars. Anyone want to tell me which ones to get? Also, any advice on what to say to the tellers? Thanks, all other comments would be greatly appreciated.

Be super nice to everyone at the bank, and be prepared to pay a fee for a box. (usually $5 or so) If you can find a teller that doesn't care too much they will usually just give you what you are looking for and not worry about charging you. Avoid management if possible. I try to go when it is really slow so they dont mind taking the time to look around for you. Bring cash with you so they dont have to make a withdrawal first to make things easier. I always start by asking if they have any half dollars or large dollar coins. I have found half dollars to be a more promising investment than other denominations, likely because they arent often circulated so not as many people have had a chance to pull the good ones. Also, dont bring the coins back to the same branch to dump them. They dont like that. Good luck!

oh yeah, avoid Wells Fargo. They seem to never have half dollars and are most likely to give you grief about buying lots of coins.

Here Is Some Bank Advice: 1) Dress in your Sunday best and carry yourself like a business owner. Banks often think we are business owners. 2) Be cordial, smile and say thank you. 3) Have correct change in hand. For example: I bring $25 in cash to buy penny boxes so they do not have to cash a withdraw for me. 4) My favorite line is: "I need a $25 box of pennies, please." "No new pennies, I do not like the design."

I would not bring it up unless asked what you need them for. And definitely reassure them that you will not be returning it to them if they ask. Thats the last thing a bank wants is for someone to come in with a box full of rewrapped coins. So go to another bank(dump bank)

Dimes. I've been roll hunting for years, constantly the last 5 years. Halves have been hit hard. If you want consistant silver, dimes have been hit less so. My advice to make it worthwhile, is to buy in volume, I like to pick up $1,000 or more in one shot, and will average 4-5 five silvers in that volume. Good luck!
When I listen to LED ZEPPELIN...so do my neighbors... Roll hunting since '77 Dirt fishing since '72
