I am currently sitting on two unopened boxes, one containing 5 sets and the other 1. The owner of the local coin shop that I go to now and them only knows that I have the set of 5 and he is currently saying that he can only offer me now $3,200 for those sets and that the price is falling the longer I wait to sell.
Since I really don't need the money now; I think that I'll continue to sit on them until I need the storage space.

I sold 3 set on ebay earlier, and still have my 2 open sets. I am debating whether to sell one more to get something else... I forget to ask is there any report of true doubled die on this set graded by any TPG?

I sold my five the day after they came in for like $3,800. And then traded a friend for his, well I couldn't control myself and opened it seeing five flawless coins. I decided to send off the two keys to NGC where they both came back MS70 but with no ER on the label if that even really matters? I picked up the other 3 non Keys in MS70 for an ave of $150 each off ebay. So I now have $450 and 3 1/10 AGE's I traded for his set. Plus I have the three non keys from his org set in there capsules so all in all a good deal. I wonder if the two key coins are worth more w/o the ER label since I see fewer of them. Here is a picture of my set.

Another interesting data point, for whatever it's worth... APMEX currently doesn't have any MS70/PR70 sets for sale, but they are selling MS69/PR69 sets (PCGS) for $849.00. At the same time, however, they are also selling raw, opened sets with the OGP for $895. So, once again, it seems as though only sets graded at MS70/PR70 have any premium over ungraded sets in the OGP, and ungraded sets in the OGP may actually be worth more than a MS69/PR69 graded set. Have I mentioned how much I really like the OGP for these sets?

Look at the info I just posted. APMEX is selling their MS69/PR69 graded sets for $849. They are selling raw sets in OGP for $895. That's $46 more for the raw sets in OGP unless my math is really off.

And I do like the OGP. That's a serious case. I wonder if the 75th SF ASE set is going to be as nice.

Yeah, I like the OGP so much on these sets that I ended up buying a larger safe just so I could have a place to store them (they were a lot bigger than I thought they would be when I ordered them). I still occasionally take one out just to drool over it, which is something I doubt I would do if the coins were all slabbed...

The difference is the packaging and all of the sets I had graded are still in their nice blue box. I would say it's a draw with neither having an advantage...the only advantage would have been having them graded unopened and coming up with a few 70/70 sets. The other are a wash.... and...the last 2 raw SOLD (not asking price) for $715,717 the last 2 NGC MS/PF 69 sold for $775, 800,

Well, if you're saying a raw set in the OGP compared to a MS/PF69 set with the OGP, I would agree that it's probably a wash. I think a lot of graded sets are now floating around without the OGP, however, in which case it may actually be worse to have them graded.
I don't recall -- did the TPGs return the OGP when you sent the sealed boxes for grading, or did you have to pay extra for that?

NGC returned the packaging and capsules for no charge...PCGS charged for the return of the packaging
Anacs didn't want the packaging at all...they just required the 2 key coins and three of the others from your collection and they would give them all the 25th Annie Set label

Foxwoods the raw is more than likely worth more than the 69 because of the chance it could grade a 70.

Don't forget shipping and insurance to send to TPG and back? Lost $40-$50 right there. What about the cost to slab? Great if the set comes back as MS-70.

Quote: I'm still very happy with the $2,250.00 that I got for selling 3 raw sets to a dealer.
It made the 2 sets I kept free and then some. My girlfriend said I should sell three of my A25 Sets, for this very reason. Her idea made perfect sense, so I didn't do it! (I don't want to part with any of my A25 Sets...)

Quote: I don't want to part with any of my A25 Sets... You could part with just one, which would pay for two sets - which is what I did. Bought three, sold one. After legwork, paid for one, got two. Love that set. Just popped one of mine open to admire...never fails to amaze.
