well 1967 dime & quarter were made in both 50% & 80% silver; since no one can really tell them apart, dealers pay about 10x face for 1967 & 1968 silver. at least with 1968, you can use a magnet to check for 50% silver. so you got about $4.00 in silver value

thanks for the reply. The silver content is decent, but these will be used to complete more 1967 sets. I hope the obverse is in good condition :P

Here's something I've posted quite a few times before... since, it seems that your basing your evaluation on the silver content. Quote: 1967 and 1968 were transition years for Canadian dimes and quarters.
In 1967 dimes and quarters went from 80% to 50% silver... in 1968 dimes and quarters went from 50% silver to pure (1.00 fine as per The Charlton Guide) nickel. A magnet will attract the nickel variety... the silver was alloyed with copper. >>> edit, There are many threads on telling the difference between .800 and .500 silver. From the spin and flop test with the higher pitch... to really complex electronical stuff... or just calling 1967 dimes and quarters .650 fine and leaving it at that.

Now having said that, if your happy with your purchase that will end up costing close to $9.00CDN (with PayPal conversion fees, etc.), who am I to say that your not, uhm, happy. Now back to the bullion hunter in me... Uncirculated 1967 is not too difficult to find... I'm just trying to point out that I've seen plenty of ebay auctions were the bidders were surely believing they were bidding on a lot of .800 fine silver from 1967. With Canadian 1967 dimes and quarters that ain't the case, you gotta be careful. But what really matters is if your happy when your purchase arrives!

RoyalSilver! Depends on what were you after. Like what Penny4Me pointed out, the silver content is practically calculated as 65%. But many found the 1967 designs are attractive. Especially when they are BU. :)

In my recent start of roll hunting, I managed to find a 1967 quarter in my first box and a 1964 quarter in my fourth box. This got me excited, as I never really expected to find anything. Now I'm looking to add to the collection with more 1967 BU condition coins, next purchase will be the 50cent piece and the dollar, if I can find it at the right price :)

Not good, not bad. Common coins that are easy to find in uncirculated condition. But if you're happy, I'm happy.

Is the five cent piece circulated or uncirculated?
