Hello,

I have never personally purchased any ebay item that did not accept returns.

I am not implying that this particular item is faulty but it makes me feel skeptical and unprotected should this item arrive defective.

Plus the ebay protection plan clearly states, " ebay Buyer Protection Policy applies only to the transaction - it is not a product warranty"

Maybe I do not totally understand the ebay protection plan but I personally would prefer to purchase from a seller that accepts returns.

IMHO

If they are too lazy to spell out "you" how do you think it would be packaged for shipment?

Lol I see that alot tho ** Using "U" instead of YOU ..
So , didnt take notice to "laziness nor think the item would show up in a sock or something ... ..

SO - I emailed the seller about "shipping" Which he replied that "i packed the microscope with bubble wrap inside the original box / then the orginal box is placed into a Medium flat rate box and also padded and TAPED to prevent breaking open .." ITEM IS PACKED TIGHT AND WILL NOT BREAK OR JOSSLE AROUND DURING SHIPPING "" End quote .. Judging by his feedback id say things are packed fine .. and he added info to the description about that and the adjustable lights I saw ...

i personally know a few guys in the Vamming world that use this exact model so I knew it would be of some use to a collector of coins and or stamps ..

Again , for the price it stated at ,its of course a cheaper model which maybe in someones "budget" .i figured.. Knowing these models work Good for what most of us need ..

I Just Honestly Was Tring To Help Someone Out with one for less then a dino at 300+$ is all .

But atleast I got some quick replies from the seller also -- And he let me know at the end "If your not comfortable , or CONFIDENT please ask any questions that I maybe able to help you with / and if still uncomfortable/unconfident Please dont bid... I want buyers to Bid with Confidence ... ." ...

Thanks for the insight guys , Much appreciated .. I didnt mean to post something thats a CHEAPIE , But I know I've seen countless questions about microscopes , and just knowing a few with this one .. Figured I would share the link for someone if this is of interest to them ..

Yea It works with a MAC -

I also asked the seller that same question... * I use a macbook so I was also curious .. Forgot to mention that above * .. But heres some more of his reply-

Seller stated " I also used a mac and this Install CD is Mac Compatible .. " He continued to state that " I'm unsure how well it works with a Windows operating system since he never used it with Windows"

Hope this helped ..

Hi,

I am a little hesitant to endorse any product unless I have personally inspected or actually used it in an applicable environment that would effectively weed out any potential product defects.

The following inexpensive USB camera that I currently own is actually featured beginning approximately midway in the following CCF URL thread below:

https://goccf.com/t/88598&whichpage=1

I am not affiliated in any way whatsoever with the manufacturers of this above USB microscope nor do I receive any non-financial incentives from them.

For those that are comfortable with spending a little bit more $ in a fixed price-type purchasing environment this product may be appropriate to consider.

I would recommend this comparable USB microscope since I have now owned it problem-free since Jan. 2012.

As an extra added bonus to sweeten the pot buy.com has an unconditional 45 day return policy on any product purchased on their website:

http://www.buy.com/loc/return-policy/67219.html

Hopefully, this information will allow one to make an objective decision when purchasing a USB microscope for coins.

I actually own this model, my coin pics in my threads were made with this model. See how he uses electrical tape to hold to the base ? That's because it doesn't stay in place when you clip it to the base. I have to use a rubber band. Also it tends to be very finicky as far as focusing it. I usually have to prop it on books or empty CD cases to get the focus correct. I would buy a different scope or camera system if I had it to do all over again

Most any of these inexpensive USB cameras have this similar issue so I personally designed an adjustable tripod stand that is currently also featured on CCF for those who like to engage in do-it-yourself projects:

I hope everyone finds this device helpful.
