Picked this one up the other day. I'm pretty sure it has artificial toning. This would be pretty extreme toning if it was real. What would you grade it?

Interesting colors; XF45 to AU50 details (cleaned).

Too bad about the rim hit @ 3:00 on the reverse and 2:30 on the obverse.

What would cause the semi-circular indication under the jaw line?

My guess would be the corner of a cloth from an old lady trying to cover it and stick it in her drawer or something along that nature. Still not sure if the toning is real though.

I think the coin appears to be about EF-45/AU-50. I agree the toning is unusual and does not appear to be natural.

My CSI guess is that it was cleaned, then subjected to flame. That semi-circle looks like the edge of a chemical burn.
EF 45, AT/Cleaned.
