1947 New Zealand Florin.
Spewing though; it's made of copper-nickel.
New Zealand had 50% silver up until 1946
($5.72 had this been 1946 or earlier)-

Did the research, lots made, not really worth anything. Scratching my head really with what to do with it-

In much more exciting news, found my first N.T Federation today - and 2 more QLD for my pile. Why can't I find any S.A's?!

Hi Tim,
I am in Sydney and the number of SA 50c is low for me (compared to the others).
I have not found enough 20c to notice a pattern for them.

You will fing the odd florin with your 20c

In my time found a UK florin + silver Aust florin which made my day

Unless you're into NZ i'd say trade it as you won't get much for this on ebay

I keep every foreign coin I find in circulation. Last week I found a new Zealand sixpence. I have found a couple Australian sixpences but only one Australian florin in circulation.

Glad to know that florins with some kind of regularity.
I've found 2 x 1960s sixpences in my 5c hunting.

OZCOINS; If you're not plucking them out of circulation, there is more chance I will ;) whoopie!

It's quite ironic really, that you can still find one of these in circulation here, yet in its homeland, they (along with any Australian-sized 20's) all got melted down in 2006...
