I recently found this during my roll searching. http://imgur.com/a/HlHtDThe center looks to be raised up all around Kennedy's head. The reverse seems to be affected as well, although it was much more difficult to photograph. Any ideas?

Can you get a picture of the reverse?

http://imgur.com/q0HrKYou can see it best between the olive branches/arrows and the eagle's wings. There's also a ridge along the stars above the eagle's head.

All I see is Die Deterioration from a very worn die. You will see this on allot of the older halves.

Severely worn dies and there is some "ghosting" going on.

@pyrbob I assume from the word "allot" that there is no collector value?

I see enough of them that I wouldn't pay any extra for it. Also I personally wouldn't even consider it an error. IMO coins such as this are simply die states and not errors. But this is just my opinion.
By the way. Welcome to the forum! Hope to see more post from you.

Thanks pyrbob for the information. I've been through about $4000 in halves now looking for silver and proofs, and this is the first one I've seen, which is why it caught my eye. However, I've just recently started looking for errors like No FG and such, so maybe I just missed a bunch.

Roll hunting Halves can be fun. You should look for one of the books on Kennedy half dollars. There is one by James Wiles and one in the Treasure Hunting series by Kevin Flynn. This will show you some of the years for doubled dies and have photos of the doubling so you know where to look for each year.

'Highland' Kennedy.
When this coin was taken, the sitter was up in the high Andes, chewing coca leaves, to relieve altitude sickness.
That makes it different from the normal 'lowland' Kennedys.
