The color on this one is a bit odd. I didn't find this one in a bag. I actually pried open my wallet for it. It still has some very nice detail for a 1916.

No need for any apology Thad. I only paid $12 for it.

I can't tell you how many times, in my lifetime that I've done crazier things with $12. Where I live, summertime temps get well above 100, I'm planning on letting this guy sit in my windowsill for awhile.

$12 isn't too bad. Use it as a pocket piece for a year and see if it improves. It will probably look better as a full brown AU coin.

using it as a pocket piece might ruin the detail in the beard.

I carry two sets of keys plus my sons very first Air Force "honor-coin" in one pocket. My other pocket always has some change rolling around in it. (I refuse to pay via debit or credit card if at all possible) There's no "return" when I pay with plastic. lol

It's in the kitchen windowsill....and I'll rub it once or twice a week. Hopefully, it'll tone back up to an honest AU or EF in a couple of years.

Nice coin other than the retoning. It must be close to MS.
