Do any of you Guys have a bank where they order bags of dollars and they are mixed with large dollar ones?
Had a friend find a Morgan at a chase the other day figured I'd look into ordering large bags or boxes of dollar coins that could be mixed?

I think it is rare to find a bank that can get bags of large dollars for you. But it is possible. Recently one member here was getting bags of ikes. He found a few morgans and Peace dollars. Most banks will give you small dollars if you ask to buy dollars. And if you order a bag of dollars, I don't think it will ever be mixed small and large dollars. I think you get one or the other..

Banks can order them from the federal reserve, but they rarely ever do/know that they can. Someone posted the forms they need to order them here once I remember.

Hmm. If someone has seen those forms that'd be awesome!

I've accounts with several different banks and CU's, none use forms, purchases are made on line. They are usually very discreet when placing orders and do not volunteer this info to the public.

If you have enough free cash available you can create a bank and order them from the fed through your "bank". The amount needed depends on the state your chartering the bank in.

Haha we could all pitch in some money and start our own CCF bank: The first national coin community family bank? Our buisness model could be geared towards being friendly towards roll hunters and stocking unusual currency. Who is with me?

I just snatched up an envelope full of 23 Ikes from my local branch for face value. That was the first time they ever had them (at least when I was there) and I didn't hesitate a second before buying them.

One of the banks that I frequent had 25 of them in an envelope. Other than a mid-mint state 1971 that I kept the rest went to my local coin shop for $1.10 each.

if I had a bag of 1000 Ike dollars, and found that 990 were not worth saving, what would I do with them? It would take too long to spend, the coin machines in my bank don't take them, and I would't want to roll them.

You find 10 more ikes not worth saving, put them back in a bag, and take them to a bank that takes bags of coins (BofA I believe is one?).
