I don't have a weight on this one yet. Hopefully, I'll know tomorrow. I don't think that this one is a "split-before-strike". In hand, it's not very much thinner than other circulated 1951 Lincolns that I have. It does have the sound of a lighter coin when I bounce it on my desk.

Yes, just a nice Greaser. I like to collect them and I bet others do too, so I think they are worth keeping.

If it is thin, the weight will reflect that fact and a thinner planchets will have a "tinnier" sound when dropped. I found my 54-D thin planchet when I was sorting a bag of wheaties and dropped it on a wooden desk, I immediately new I had something different when I heard the sound. It doesn't look to be much different from the normal 53-D but there is some weakness and fattening of the rim and the weight is 2.7 grams(42 grains).

Get the weight! The O in ONE could indicate it's thin because that is directly opposite the shoulder (most metal flow)...maybe it was too thin to fill the die. I wouldn't jump on grease too quickly.
