Again I am really impressed by the coins of t360 and equally so by the ones from EarlyMilledCoins, dooly, and kuh_85.
Dooly I have to ask, is what appears to a half coin that t360 identified as King Henry III long cross coinage 1247-1272 a full coin or was it cut in half for some purpose.
This question probably shows my lack of knowledge but I am curious by nature.
In any event I am always impressed by the coins of antiquity and wish that I could run across them at any time.

Ghostrider; as far as I know it was not uncommon to have coins cut in half to provide lower denominations as there was a shortage of change in those days. If you had to pay 1/2 penny for some goods and only had a penny then you cut it in half. Remember that they were Silver and worth their Silver weight. They were also worth quite a lot in spending terms; you could buy an awful lot with a penny in those days and it's unlikely that the poor would have seen that many of them. Mike.
