Hi people I came across a 1999 Delaware quarter that appears to have had its obverse stricken with the reverse of a dime. The reverse of the quarter looks the same for the most part but is very distorted from the error. The coin is bent inward slightly where the dime image is making it somewhat bowl-shaped. Is this worth anything?

Someone squeezed a dime and quarter together in a vise. It would impossible to this to happen to have a dime struck over a quarter from the mint as a quarter would not fit into a dime collar. The devices are mirrored and the coin is bent. You can also see the rims pressed into the quarter. PMD all the way.

Not an error, just a damaged coin(smash job). Mint presses do not allow for a smaller coin to be overstruck on a larger coin or planchet but it can work the opposite way(larger coin struck on a smaller planchet/coin). Unfortunately, it is probably not even worth 25 cents anymore since it is bent and mutilated.
