So, obviously I suffer from some kind of OCD, because since I noticed the chip on the raised rear rim, I can't stop thinking about it.

My question is; can I send it back to PCGS to have it re-spanned in a new case?

Anyone ever done this? I won't tamper with the case myself, and the chip is purely aesthetic.

Thanks!

They will re-slab it but it costs about the same as a regular coin grading fee.

Not being a slab lover, I suggest just taking the coin out of the slab and putting it in an Album. Then no chips, dents, scratches, etc will bother you.
But to spend the money on reslabbing is rather a waste of money.

PCGS offers a "reholder" service for which they remove the coin from the damaged PCGS slab and put it in a new one with the same grade. The cost used to be $10, plus shipping both ways. Check their website to verify current pricing and policy.
