This is a bit subjective, of course, but the best deal I remember getting was a 2007 $25 Athletes Pride Hologram Proof for $27.50, or just $2.50 over face. A close second is the Canada 2006 $30 Beaumont Hamel Newfoundland Memorial Proof for $36.50. Here's a pic of the former:

Wow very nice deals. I got my 2005 walrus at about melt value, so I guess that's my best deal. Nothing too spectacular. Did you get yours from a shop or online?

Going over my records it looks like I normally pay between 50% and 100% of list/issue price. My best deal would be a 2010 50 cents Santa and Rudolph. List of $26.95 + tax & shipping. Paid $3.96 including tax and shipping. :-)

From the looks of things, my best deal was buying the silver ladybug at issue price!

Bought a 2008 CANADA DOWNY WOODPECKER on ebay for $25.00. It was listed in the wrong section and the name was miss spelled. I found it by accident by searching "2008 downey". I flipped it for $185 after receiving the coin.

I got you beat on that coin. I got the woodpecker quarter and hummingbird quarter for a grand total of $10 for both! I still have em...
