Seems like a good deal, but I just read the list of exclusions, what type of transactions ARE allowed?

LOL I was so caught up in "free" money, I didn't read the exclusions. Here they are: quote: Excluded Transactions. The following transactions are excluded from this offer: Send Money transactions, payments to Personal Accounts, ebay payments made to Personal Accounts, donations, PayPal Mobile transactions, payments for services, Virtual Debit Card payments, PayPal ATM/ Debit Card payments, payments made when you are not logged into your PayPal account, and PayPal Plus Credit Card payments not made through your PayPal account.
Sending money, like to your brother in law who needs to get his Trombone out of hock. Paying to personal accounts (PP wants to promote commerce, it seems.) Looks like tangible merchandise from a Paypal merchant or ebay is what works.

Sounds like they are trying to counter Google's new checkout service. I haven't looked into it yet but I heard Google is waiving all merchant fees for 2007 as an introductory service. I have seen a couple of ebay auctions already using Google checkout instead of paypal. It'll be interesting if it picks up steam. Maybe paypal will actually become customer/merchant friendly.

Ken, I'm hoping the Google checkout feature can be used with ebay auctions. Do you have any examples of auctions that use this? Do they have to integrate Google's HTML into their listing? ebay can't be happy about this, but then, I never trusted PayPal since they don't adhere to FDIC regulations. _______________________________________________________________________ UPDATE: Looks like I'm going to answer my own question....here's ebay's response to new competition...deny deny deny!! http://www.auctionbytes.com/cab/abn.../m07/i06/s02

I didn't save the link of the seller that I saw last week. So either e-bay is allowing it now or the seller got booted. Now I'm wishing I saved it.
