Yesterday I purchased another 11 ancients to go with the first two I got. None of them are attributed so I am having fun with that and slowly started to get a few. I have found an exact match to my coin on wildwinds but it doesn't have much information regarding it. The coin: http://wildwinds.com/coins/ric/cons...viii_082.txthttp://wildwinds.com/coins/ric/cons...viii_082.jpgWhat I have done with a couple others is find it on wildwinds and then search on vcoins because most of the dealers have written it up in a way I like with the mint, year range, denomination etc. For this coin I cant find any other information other than that on wildwinds. So now for the very stupid questions because I'm a little (closer to completely) confused. What is the denomination, rough year range and mint? Your patience is appreciated. Thanks

It would be preferable to post your coins that you want attributed, or more information about. I use a combination of Excel sheets, RIC books, and websites for attribution, etc.

I am unable to post pictures until later tonight which will be early morning forum time. The coin I have is the same as the one on wildwinds.

IF your coin is RIC VIII 82 ( I don't doubt you, but a picture is worth a thousand words, right?), the following information will apply: CONSTANS. 337-350 AD. Æ Centenionalis (22mm, 4.66 g). Lugdunum (Lyons) mint. Struck 348-350 AD. DN CONSTA-NS P F AVG, Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right / FEL TEMP RE-PARATIO,Soldier spearing fallen horseman; */PLC. RIC VIII 82; LRBC 199. Not only on Wildwinds, but also listed here (last coin on page): http://www.ancientcoins.ca/RIC/index.htmI hope this provides the information you are wanting. Regards,

However, the picture you showed was a rare variation of a generally common type. Certainly you may have this exact coin but many of us might suspect what you have is one of the other 2000 types of falling horsemen so we want to see a picture before commenting further.

I will work on a picture then. May take a while and the coin isn't as good condition as the one pictured. My attribution skills are in their infancy so I have probably made a mistake
